Fall 2024 Registration Now Open for All Age Groups

The registration portal can be found on our website under the "Players" menu and the waitlist deadlines for each age group are listed below.  The deadlines below correspond to the grades the players will be in starting in the Fall.  The only way to guarantee a spot on a team is to register before the waitlist deadline so don't delay.  We've implemented a new player commitment policy for 3rd thru 8th graders (i.e. it's in the "Players" menu) and ask that you make sure your child can meet the requirements before registering him/her.

Effective for the fall 2024 season, WYSA is discontinuing the practice of building teams in 1st-3rd grade based on school because it has become too difficult to manage.  WYSA will make sure that each player has at least one other player from their school on their team but they will have more kids from other schools on their team than in the past.  This policy change also brings WYSA more in-line with the other town sports and is a great opportunity for them to make new friends.  The teams for Kindergarten will continue in the current format which is school based.

- 4th-8th Grade: 6/15

- K-3rd Grade: 7/15

WYSA/Seacoast United Summer 2024 Soccer Camps

WYSA will be offering two summer camps in partnership with Seacoast United again this summer (see registration link below). The camps will be offered for K-8th graders from June 24th-27th (i.e., 28th is a weather-related make-up day) and August 5th-8th (i.e., 9th is a weather-related make-up day).  Each session goes from 9am to 1pm and the camps are run by the Seacoast professional coaches.  The cost is $180 per player per week and use the link below to register for the camps.

Additionally, each day there will be an optional 1hr goalkeeper training session during the 9am-1pm block (i.e., they'll miss an hour of the field player training each day) that's included in this registration at no extra charge.  Just let the Seacoast coaches know during the first day check-in process and they'll take it from there.  We prefer the goalkeeper participants to be limited to those that are committed to playing goalkeeper for at least a portion of the games during the upcoming season.

The WYSA/Seacoast camps were excellent last summer and it should be a great opportunity to get in some summer training.

Fall 2024 Travel Rosters

The Fall 2024 Travel Rosters are posted below.

All roster decisions are made with the best interests of all of the players and teams in the respective age groups in mind. WYSA's goal is to field teams at a variety of competitive levels and many hours have been put into the decision making process to achieve that goal.  Outlined below are the three different types of assessments that are used to evaluate the players.  Some of the important factors  (i.e., not an exhaustive list) considered in the different assessments include:  technical skill, athletic aptitude, attendance, attitude, and work ethic.  The placements reflect where WYSA believes each player is best positioned to continue to develop as a soccer player and as an individual.

  1. Evaluations submitted from the coaches of the previous season
  2. Observations made by the Director of Coaching during practices and games
  3. Assessments conducted by evaluators at open tryouts

Please see our https://walpolesoccer.org/tryouts for additional information about the team selection process.

The BAYS season is scheduled to begin Saturday, September 7th. Families should begin hearing from their coaches about their team practice schedules sometime in early to mid August. The BAYS game schedule will likely be announced in late August.
